4% of Israeli Jews: Obama pro-Israel
By GIL HOFFMAN of error of 4.5%.
A much-cited Post poll published on June 19 that put the
first figure at 6% had been cited by top officials in both the White
House and the Prime Minister's Office as the catalyst for recent
American efforts to improve the American-Israeli relationship. But the
new poll proves that those efforts have not improved Obama's reputation
among Israelis.
The earlier poll, taken shortly after Obama reached out to the
Muslim world in a landmark address in Cairo, found that 50% of those
sampled considered the administration's policies more pro-Palestinian
than pro-Israeli, and 36% said the policies were neutral. The remaining
8% did not express an opinion.
The number of Israelis who see US President Barack Obama's policies as pro-Israel has fallen to four percent, according to a Smith Research poll taken this week on behalf of The Jerusalem Post.

I am finally scared of a White House administration
By Nat Hentoff
![]() |
I was not intimidated during J. Edgar Hoover's FBI hunt for reporters like me who criticized him. I railed against the Bush-Cheney war on the Bill of Rights without blinking. But now I am finally scared of a White House administration. President Obama's desired health care reform intends that a federal board (similar to the British model) — as in the Center for Health Outcomes Research and Evaluation in a current Democratic bill — decides whether your quality of life, regardless of your political party, merits government-controlled funds to keep you alive. Watch for that life-decider in the final bill. It's already in the stimulus bill signed into law.
The members of that ultimate federal board will themselves not have
examined or seen the patient in question. For another example of the
growing, tumultuous resistance to "Dr. Obama," particularly among
seniors, there is a July 29 Washington Times editorial citing a line
from a report written by a key adviser to Obama on cost-efficient
health care, prominent bioethicist Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel (brother of
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel).
Emanuel writes about rationing health care for older Americans that
"allocation (of medical care) by age is not invidious discrimination."
(The Lancet, January 2009) He calls this form of rationing — which is
fundamental to Obamacare goals — "the complete lives system." You see,
at 65 or older, you've had more life years than a 25-year-old. As such,
the latter can be more deserving of cost-efficient health care than
older folks.
No matter what Congress does when it returns from its recess, rationing
is a basic part of Obama's eventual master health care plan. Here is
what Obama said in an April 28 New York Times interview (quoted in
Washington Times July 9 editorial) in which he describes a government
end-of-life services guide for the citizenry as we get to a certain
age, or are in a certain grave condition. Our government will
undertake, he says, a "very difficult democratic conversation" about
how "the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are
accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care" costs.
This end-of-life consultation has been stripped from the Senate Finance Committee bill because of democracy-in-action town-hall outcries but remains in three House bills.
A specific end-of-life proposal is in draft Section 1233 of H.R. 3200,
a House Democratic health care bill that is echoed in two others that
also call for versions of "advance care planning consultation" every
five years — or sooner if the patient is diagnosed with a progressive
or terminal illness.
As the Washington Post's Charles Lane penetratingly explains (Undue
influence," Aug. 8): the government would pay doctors to discuss with
Medicare patients explanations of "living wills and durable powers of
attorney … and (provide) a list of national and state-specific
resources to assist consumers and their families" on making
advance-care planning (read end-of-life) decisions.
Significantly, Lane adds that, "The doctor 'shall' (that's an order) explain that Medicare pays for hospice care (hint, hint)."

Commentary by Cole Younger of TeaPartyNation

Dr.
Krauthammer is often on Fox News. He is an M.D., writes about politics
and policy for The Washington Post's op-ed page and is paralyzed from
the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened
with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but
1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their
children.
Last Monday was a profound evening, hearing Dr. Charles Krauthammer speak to the Center for the American Experiment. He is brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views.
He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally.
Even two Democrats at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free.
Summary of his comments:
1.
Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be
underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions.
It's very hard to know what's behind the mask.
The taking down
of the Clinton dynasty by a political neophyte was an amazing
accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them.
Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.
2. Obama has
political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of
making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while
doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch
what he DOES!
3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did
not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to
change everything, including dismantling capitalism.

On Thursday, an astounding 280,000 Organizing for America supporters gathered online to huddle with the President at our National Health Care Forum. With Congress about to return to Washington to make historic decisions on health insurance reform, the President chose this critical moment to speak directly to the OFA community. He reminded us of how far we've come and what we can accomplish together:
Remember one thing: Nothing is more powerful than millions of voices calling for change. That's how we won this election. You know this, and that's why since OFA launched its health reform campaign in June you've hosted 11,000 events in more than 2,500 towns in every single state and every single congressional district...I am absolutely confident that we can get this done, but I want everybody to remember, this has never been easy....We are not going to give up now. We are going to get this done.
Now it's up to us to take the next step. This week, we need to make sure every member of Congress heads back to Washington hearing overwhelming support for change. Lies and fear must not have the last word about the health reform America so desperately needs. So here's what you can do: Find and attend a "Let's Get It Done: Health Insurance Reform Now" event near you. (Okay friends, you know what to do...)
There are thousands of events, in every part of the country. In some places, we're rallying near local congressional offices to deliver signatures of support from voters. In others we're meeting in high-traffic areas to offer passers-by an easy way to get the facts and call Congress, thanking those fighting for reform and urging others to stand with their constituents. Wherever you live, you can find a powerful way to show Congress, the media, and our neighbors that the American people have one clear message about health reform: Let's get it done.
Thursday, the President made the stakes of reform crystal clear. He talked about how, with health care costs rising three times faster than wages, the cost of inaction is simply too high.
He explained how reform will guarantee competition and choice. He described the Insurance Guarantees that will protect every American from discrimination against pre-existing conditions, exorbitant charges, and arbitrary denials or reductions in coverage just when we need it most.
And he made plain his stance on the public option: "So let me just be clear: I continue to support a public option, I think it is important, and I think it will help drive down costs and give consumers choices."
But even the best plan only matters if it passes, and that's where we all have a critical role to play. As the President said:
And that's why what all of you do is so important, because people trust you -- your neighbors, your friends, fellow community members -- they trust you. They know you. And if you are presenting the facts clearly and fairly, I'm absolutely confident that we're going to win this debate. But we're going to have a lot of work to do and I'm grateful that you're willing to do it. Let's go get 'em.
Answer the President's call -- find and attend an event near you:

Several sources have informed One Jerusalem
that the Obama Administration is planning to significantly step up the
pressure on Israel by announcing a comprehensive plan for Israel and
the Palestinians at the opening of the United Nations General in
September.
Picture this: The anti-Israel nations of the world
surrounding President Obama as he demands that Israel give up
sovereignty over Jerusalem, abandon settlements, and recognize a
terrorist state on the West Bank.
If this happens, Israel will be isolated from the rest of world in a very dramatic manner.
The first sign that something was up came when Egyptian President Mubarak said
that the Obama Administration was ready to propose a plan in September
and the White House rushed to dampen expectations by declaring that
they are nowhere near to readying a plan.
Our sources confirmed that the Obama administration is contemplating this ambush of Israel at the United Nations.
At the moment, friends and supporters of Israel can help derail this insidious plan by:

White House Reveals Obama Is Bipolar, Has Entered Depressive Phase

How hard is it to greet a group of rabbis when trying to sell health-care reform as a religious obligation? For one thing, you could just say, “Hello,” but that may not have the shmooze value of speaking Hebrew or Yiddish. Fortunately, the greeting “Shalom” pretty much works in every situation, but apparently Barack Obama decided to be a foigel — and wound up with egg on his punim:
The purpose of the call was for President Obama to enlist the rabbis to support his health-care reform efforts: “I am going to need your help in accomplishing necessary reform.” The reference to the “who shall live and who shall die” prayer was strange in two respects. First, as Paul Bedard noted, the Jewish New Year won’t take place until September 18th. In fact, today marks the beginning of the month of Elul, the last month before the New Year begins. And yet the president said “shanah tovah [happy new year] to all of you.” This is kind of like wishing people “Merry Christmas” on Thanksgiving.
Second, and more surprisingly, is this really the context in which he wishes to discuss health reform — a powerful and unseen being making determinations of life and death? One would think that he would want to avoid anything that could raise the specter of rationing, death panels, or the like.
Nor was that the only tone-deaf aspect of the call, as Washington Jewish Week reported:
Second, the hold music on the line, through no apparent fault of the White House or the Religious Action Center, which sponsored the call, was “Deutschland Über Alles.” A number of rabbis apparently expressed discomfort with this choice of music as well.
Next time, stick with Pachelbel’s Canon in D and a simple shalom, schmuck.

In 1986, Ronald Reagan and Bill Bradley created a legislative miracle. They fashioned a tax reform that stripped loopholes, political favors, payoffs, patronage and other corruptions out of the tax system. With the resulting savings, they lowered tax rates across the board. Those reductions, combined with the elimination of the enormous inefficiencies and perverse incentives that go into tax sheltering, helped propel a 20-year economic boom.
In overhauling any segment of our economy, the 1986 tax reform should be the model. Yet today's ruling Democrats propose to fix our extremely high-quality (but inefficient and therefore expensive) health-care system with 1,000 pages of additional curlicued complexity -- employer mandates, individual mandates, insurance company mandates, allocation formulas, political payoffs and myriad other conjured regulations and interventions -- with the promise that this massive concoction will lower costs.
This is all quite mad. It creates a Rube Goldberg system that simply multiplies the current inefficiencies and arbitrariness, thus producing staggering deficits with less choice and lower-quality care. That's why the administration can't sell Obamacare.
The administration's defense is to accuse critics of being for the status quo. Nonsense. Candidate John McCain and a host of other Republicans since have offered alternatives. Let me offer mine: Strip away current inefficiencies before remaking one-sixth of the U.S. economy. The plan is so simple it doesn't even have the requisite three parts. Just two: radical tort reform and radically severing the link between health insurance and employment.
(1) Tort reform: As I wrote recently, our crazy system of casino malpractice suits results in massive and random settlements that raise everyone's insurance premiums and creates an epidemic of defensive medicine that does no medical good, yet costs a fortune.
An authoritative Massachusetts Medical Society study found that five out of six doctors admitted they order tests, procedures and referrals -- amounting to about 25 percent of the total -- solely as protection from lawsuits. Defensive medicine, estimates the libertarian/conservative Pacific Research Institute, wastes more than $200 billion a year. Just half that sum could provide a $5,000 health insurance grant -- $20,000 for a family of four -- to the uninsured poor (U.S. citizens ineligible for other government health assistance).
What to do? Abolish the entire medical-malpractice system. Create a new social pool from which people injured in medical errors or accidents can draw. The adjudication would be done by medical experts, not lay juries giving away lottery prizes at the behest of the liquid-tongued John Edwardses who pocket a third of the proceeds.
The pool would be funded by a relatively small tax on all health-insurance premiums. Socialize the risk; cut out the trial lawyers. Would that immunize doctors from carelessness or negligence? No. The penalty would be losing your medical license. There is no more serious deterrent than forfeiting a decade of intensive medical training and the livelihood that comes with it.
(2) Real health-insurance reform: Tax employer-provided health-care benefits and return the money to the employee with a government check to buy his own medical insurance, just as he buys his own car or home insurance.
There is no logical reason to get health insurance through your employer. This entire system is an accident of World War II wage and price controls. It's economically senseless. It makes people stay in jobs they hate, decreasing labor mobility and therefore overall productivity. And it needlessly increases the anxiety of losing your job by raising the additional specter of going bankrupt through illness.

All throughout August, our members of Congress are back in town. Insurance companies and partisan attack groups are stirring up fear with false rumors about the President's plan, and it's extremely important that folks like you speak up now.
So we've cooked up an easy, powerful way for you to make a big impression: Office Visits for Health Reform.
All this week, OFA members like you will be stopping by local congressional offices to show our support for insurance reform. You can have a quick conversation with the local staff, tell your personal story, or even just drop off a customized flyer and say that reform matters to you.
We'll provide everything you need: the address, phone number, and open hours for the office, information about how the health care crisis affects your state for you to drop off (with the option of adding your personal story), and a step-by-step guide for your visit.
According to our records, you live near Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office in Los Angeles, CA. (Holy shit! Obama knows where I live!)
Sign up now to visit Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office in Los Angeles this week.
(Not your representative, or think there might be another office that's easier for you to get to? Click here to find a different office.)
As you've probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it's getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can't let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.
Office Visits for Health Reform are our chance to show that the vast majority of American voters know that the cost of inaction is too high to bear, and strongly support passing health reform in 2009.
Don't worry if you've never done anything like this before. The congressional staff is there to listen, and your opinion as a constituent matters a lot. And if you bring a friend, you'll have more fun and make an even greater impact.
Click below to sign up for an Office Visit for Health Reform:
http://my.barackobama.com/
Wherever you live, these visits matter: Many representatives are pushing hard toward reform, and they are taking a lot of heat from special interests. They deserve our thanks and need our support to continue the fight. But those who are still putting insurance companies and partisan point-scoring ahead of their constituents must know that voters are watching -- and that we expect better.
Earlier this week, the President wrote that "this is the moment our movement was built for" and asked us all to commit to join at least one event this month. This is the way to answer that call, and rise to the challenge of this moment together.
Thank you for going the extra mile when it matters the most,

RJC says Mary Robinson is not an appropriate recipient for Medal of Freedom
Tuesday, August 04, 2009 By: RJC Press Office
Washington, D.C. (August 4, 2009) -- The Republican Jewish Coalition
(RJC) today spoke out strongly against President Obama's decision to
award Mary Robinson the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The President
will honor 16 people with the Medal of Freedom on August 12.
RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said, "Mary Robinson, who was one of the people responsible for the 2001 Durban conference against racism descending into an anti-Israel propaganda forum, is not an appropriate recipient for one of our nation's highest honors. In fact, awarding the Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson does great dishonor to the many outstanding men and women who have received it in the past."
RJC responded to the late Friday afternoon statement by the White House spokesman Tommy Vietor, who said, "Mary Robinson has dedicated her career to human rights... As with any public figure, we don't necessarily agree with every statement she has ever made, but it's clear that she has been an agent of change and a fighter for good."
Yet the late Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA), a member of the U.S. delegation to the Durban conference (later withdrawn when the U.S. boycotted the event), described Mary Robinson this way: "To many of us present at the events at Durban, it is clear that much of the responsibility for the debacle rests on the shoulders of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson, who, in her role as secretary-general of the conference, failed to provide the leadership needed to keep the conference on track."
Brooks said, "We're troubled that the White House chooses to minimize the very real controversy about Mary Robinson. It's wrong for the United States to honor someone who led a meeting that our nation boycotted. She had the opportunity to fight for good - by resisting the effort to turn the Durban conference into a swamp of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda. She not only failed to resist it, she facilitated it. That President Obama wishes to honor Mary Robinson in this way is profoundly disturbing."
Among the past recipients of the Medal of Freedom are people who personify some of America's greatest ideals. They include men and women who have fought for freedom, such as Aung San Suu Kyi, Natan Sharansky, Rosa Parks, and Jeane Kirkpatrick; advocates of human rights such as Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa, and Simon Wiesenthal; and foreign leaders whose courage and leadership have contributed to world peace and security, such as John Howard, Tony Blair, Vaclav Havel, and Margaret Thatcher.
Brooks continued, "The choice of Mary Robinson for this award calls into serious question the White House vetting process, given Robinson's well-known record, particularly with regard to the 2001 Durban conference. The U.S. boycotted the conference and it was the subject of intense public discussion. If the White House staff passed on Robinson's name knowing how controversial and troubling the choice would be, that's wrong in and of itself. If Robinson's name made it onto the Medal of Freedom list because the White House staff was unaware of how controversial she was, that's even worse." (Puleeze, I don't think there is a chance in hell, they didn't know EXACTLY what she's about.)

Liar....
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one of the most despised political figures in the country.
And, frankly, she doesn’t give a damn.
“No, I don’t care,” Pelosi told POLITICO last Thursday, laughing heartily as she walked beneath the Capitol dome and plunged into a crowd of tourists.
Last week’s Public Strategies Inc./POLITICO poll brought grim news for Pelosi, revealing that only a quarter of Americans trust the San Francisco Democrat — putting her in the basement with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Mention of the “trust” question halted the click-clack of Pelosi’s heels against Rotunda marble, and she turned to face the reporter who posed the question.
“I don’t know about ‘trust’ — I think I’m trusted,” she said.
“I certainly want to be trusted. I’m not particularly concerned if I’m liked.”

This is astounding. Where Bush failed, Obama rules. Bush refused to address his detractors and the mass media smear campaign. That was Bush's fatal flaw. In direct contrast, Obama's agenda of complete control is his fatal flaw; in a word, it's fascism.
The desired effect of such a proclamation? A chilling assault on free speech.
Here's the White House link, a page out of the Goebbels handbook on the ministry of propaganda.
If you see anybody publicly opposing President Obama’s plan to implement a government-centric overhaul of the health care system, the White House wants you to report that person (or persons) ASAP.
From the White House website:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
Emphasis added. Of course, as we’ve seen in the health care debate to date, the term “disinformation” is used by the Obama White House as a catchall to describe any opposition to the President’s push for single-payer, government-run health care — meaning the White House wants to be informed of any forwarded emails or blog posts or any “casual conversations” that could be taken as opposition to their health care overhaul plan.
The White House has, as yet, offered no explanation of what it is they plan to do with the tips on policy opposition they hope to receive from citizen informers.

UPDATE: Reasonsjester has some great ideas on how to beat Obama at his own game. Click here...
UPDATE; Just got this little gem from OBAMA.
This is the moment our movement was built for.
For one month, the fight for health insurance reform leaves the backrooms of
Washington, D.C., and returns to communities across America. Throughout
August, members of Congress are back home, where the hands they shake and
the voices they hear will not belong to lobbyists, but to people like you.
Home is where we're strongest. We didn't win last year's election together
at a committee hearing in D.C. We won it on the doorsteps and the phone
lines, at the softball games and the town meetings, and in every part of
this great country where people gather to talk about what matters most. And
if you're willing to step up once again, that's exactly where we're going to
win this historic campaign for the guaranteed, affordable health insurance
that every American deserves.
There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a
political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are
filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare
people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting
pretty nervous. So we've got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and
set the record straight.
That's why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events
this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make
certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act.
But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up
to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support. So here's what I
need from you:
Can you commit to join at least one event in your community this month?
In politics, there's a rule that says when you ask people to get
involved, always tell them it'll be easy. Well, let's be honest here:
Passing comprehensive health insurance reform will not be easy. Every
President since Harry Truman has talked about it, and the most powerful
and experienced lobbyists in Washington stand in the way.
But every day we don't act, Americans watch their premiums rise three
times faster than wages, small businesses and families are pushed
towards bankruptcy, and 14,000 people lose their coverage entirely. The
cost of inaction is simply too much for the people of this nation to
bear.
So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack
us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work,
and there will be days when we don't know if we have anything more to
give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing
what's easy, and doing what's right.
This is one of those times. And moments like this are what this movement was built for. So, are you ready?
Please commit now to taking at least one action in your community this month to build support for health insurance reform:
http://my.barackobama.com/
Let's seize this moment and win this historic victory for our economy, our health and our families.
Thank you,
President Barack Obama

First Lady requires more than twenty attendants
By Dr. Paul L. Williams Tuesday, July 7, 2009
“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people
who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it”
--Albert Einstein
“In my own life, in my own small way, I have tried to give back to this country that has given me so much,” she said. “See, that’s why I left a job at a big law firm for a career in public service, “ Michelle Obama
No, Michele Obama does not get paid to serve as the First Lady and she doesn’t perform any official duties. But this hasn’t deterred her from hiring an unprecedented number of staffers to cater to her every whim and to satisfy her every request in the midst of the Great Recession. Just think Mary Lincoln was taken to task for purchasing china for the White House during the Civil War. And Mamie Eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary.
How things have changed! If you’re one of the tens of millions of Americans facing certain destitution, earning less than subsistence wages stocking the shelves at Wal-Mart or serving up McDonald cheeseburgers, prepare to scream and then come to realize that the benefit package for these servants of Miz Michele are the same as members of the national security and defense departments and the bill for these assorted lackeys is paid by John Q. Even better: He became a communist while in jail....
This is really frightening.
We warned Americans Barack Obama is a Marxist who would govern through dangerous people. Obama’s new Czar, for “Green Jobs” Anthony “Van” Jones freely admits he’s a proud San Francisco Communist with an arrest record.
Because the media has no integrity and works against us, except for Fox News, we have heard little or nothing about this. The amount of damage this confirmed member of Obama’s secret “cabinet” will do as “Green Czar” is frightening to the core. With his signature this radical unelected party apparatchik will be able to crush America’s economy to help Obama’s plans to destroy our country.
Comrade Jones is Black and green on the outside but deeply red on the inside.
The East Bay Express, an Oakland area Black on line magazine reported Comrade Czar Jones, the man who will put the final nail in our coffin, became a communist when he became enchanted with “these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, … I need to be a part of[them].”
He met them in jail, how inspiring!
Jones proudly says he spent the next ten years working with the people he met in jail in April, and “by August I was a Communist.”
His website “Green for all” carries this telling quote from Comrade Jones on his new position, “… we’re going to be in an economic slowdown for a couple of years. So to take three months, four months, six months to spend this money the right way-we’re not going to get a chance to spend a trillion dollars again! Ever. So let’s do it the right way!”
