"None of the four wars in my lifetime came about because we were too strong. It's weakness that invites adventurous adversaries to make mistaken judgments. America is the most peaceful, least warlike nation in modern history. We are not the cause of all the ills of the world. We're a patient and generous people. But for the sake of our freedom and that of others, we cannot permit our reserve to be confused with a lack of resolve."
Ronald Reagan (1984)
I'm worried that he has hired some people from Kennedy's staff. Also, he doesn't give the Tea Party movement very much credit. How soon I get disappointed! ; )

ks,
I hadn't heard any of those things. I don't much mind him hiring some of Kennedy's staff; I think that could build good will for him but as for him not giving the Tea Party movement much credit, that is disappointing. ;(

I think I read about it on Michelle Malkin's website. It's probably okay. If he didn't care about the Democrats passing bills, then he wouldn't have decided to get sworn today.
He's VERY photogenic!

KS,
he's been very patient but he really shouldn't have to sit by while the dems keep voting on things. He should have been seated last week, as far as I'm concerned.
And yes, photogenic, he is!

You'd better believe if a dimocrat had won a race, and a republican was keeping the seat warm, the dim would have demanded being seated within hours of winning the election! I'm not too concerned that he didn't give the tea party movement much credit...we were the ones who embraced him, not the other way around, because we wanted to return the "Kennedy Seat" to the people. I'm sure he was happy enough for whatever support he got, but he has to get re-elected in 2012 in that liberal State, and you know the libs will be doing everything in their power to take him down. So often, we are really quick to turn on those who share most, but not all, of our ideals. A lot of conservatives turned on Dubya, which hurt him in the polls, which the state-run media picked up and ran with.
