Obama's Love-Fest with King Abdullah

  How nauseating is this? Obama fawns all over this Saudi King (again) in preparation for Netanyahu's visit next week. I shudder to think how different the tone of that meeting will be from the tone of this meeting. This also comes at a time when (today in Southern California) the son of Hamas' leader is on trial to decide if the US will deport him back to the Middle East, to be tortured to death, most assuredly. I guess the son of a terrorist, who converts to Christianity and becomes a spy for Israel is someone this administration believes is simply not worth protecting. My dear friend Reut makes the point that if the US decides to deport him, Israel will intervene.

  King Abdullah of Saudi Arabian was welcomed to his first Oval Office meeting with US President Barack Obama Tuesday, with Iran, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and energy at the top of the agenda.

Obama told reporters of their shared desire to see Palestinians and Israelis "living side by side" in peace, a point discussed at length over their working lunch.  Abdullah expressed his continued support for the Arab Peace Initiative for solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the meeting. Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq were also addressed. Obama said that the two countries would continue to "work together towards combating violent extremism."
