"None of the four wars in my lifetime came about because we were too strong. It's weakness that invites adventurous adversaries to make mistaken judgments. America is the most peaceful, least warlike nation in modern history. We are not the cause of all the ills of the world. We're a patient and generous people. But for the sake of our freedom and that of others, we cannot permit our reserve to be confused with a lack of resolve."
Ronald Reagan (1984)
Californians made a couple of very bad decisions today, in not choosing DeVore for senate and Poizner for governor. But then what else is new? I don't think Whitman will have a tough time beating Brown. I just hope Fiorina can beat Boxer.
One wonders if Californians are capable of learning from their mistakes. The state is run by special interest groups and lobbies. Cali is such a beautiful state - lived there a short while near San Luis Obispo - and it's a shame that the lefty parasites have trashed the public finances. The end result will be more insane taxes until all major private businesses pack up and leave. But if the left hates private business so much, maybe the corps should 'shrug' and leave Californians without the goods and services that most there so mindlessly demand. Let's hope that enough damage - but not too much damage - is done by the RINOs that people realize that there is no compromising with the left. A slow road to economic destruction is not an option for those who care about their children and grandchildren.
